Mode Reassignment

This feature makes a destination mode key the same mode as the source default mode. You can reassign any mode key to do the function of another mode key. For example you could program Tune In to control six different TVs or three TVs and three VCRs.

Issue with Mode Reassignment:

Non-TV reassigned keys may not control the Mute and Volume functions on your TV.

To Reassign a Mode

  1. Press and hold Set until the green light blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.
  2. Press and release keys: 9, 9, 2. The green Ready Light will blink twice.
  3. Press and release the source default mode key.
  4. Press and release the destination mode key.
  5. Follow the Set Up Instructions for the reassigned device. Please substitute the reassigned device key when using the directions. Remember your reassigned device may be two keystrokes, for example Shift and Vcr.

Example 1 of Mode Reassignment:

To designate the Cbl key as the second VCR:
  1. Press and hold Set until the green light blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.
  2. Press and release keys: 9, 9, 2. The green Ready Light will blink twice.
  3. Press and release the source default mode key, Vcr.
  4. Press and release the destination mode key Cbl.
  5. Follow the Set Up Instructions for setting up your VCR substituting Cbl for VCR.

Example 2 of Mode Reassignment:

To designate the VCR2 key to be a TV key:

  1. Press and hold Set until the green light blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.
  2. Press and release keys: 9, 9, 2. The green Ready Light will blink twice.
  3. Press and release the source default mode key, TV.
  4. Press and release the destination mode key Shift and Vcr.
  5. Follow the Set Up Instructions for setting up your TV substituting Shift and Vcr for TV.

To Reset a Mode key to Its Original Condition:

  1. Press and hold Set until the green light blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.
  2. Press and release keys: 9, 9, 2. The green Ready Light will blink twice.
  3. Press and release the mode key to be reset twice. For example, press and release Cbl, Cbl -- or if it is a shifted mode, press and release Shift, Cbl, Shift, Cbl.
