Creating Macros/Sequences

Remote

Have you ever wished you could push a couple of buttons and turn on and tune components of your video system as you want them? Now you can.

Caution: The equipment you want to operate with a Macro/Sequence must be positioned so that Tune In will operate this equipment while pointed in a single direction from where the remote will be used. Run a test to determine if this will work before you implement a macro that may be unreliable for your location.

Tune In can record a series of key sequences for the equipment it controls and play them back by pressing and releasing the Set key, then one of four keys VOL+, VOL-, CH+ or CH-.

Remote

To make a sequence:

  1. Press and hold Set until the green light on Tune In blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.
  2. Press and release keys: 9, 9, 5.
  3. Press and release the Set key. The green light will blink once.
  4. Press the key that you want to use to play the sequence. These are VOL+, VOL-, CH+ or CH-. On your Tune In these keys are numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4.
  5. Now make the series of key sequences that you want to use over and over in the future. Once you have finished, press and hold Set until the green light on Tune In blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.

Testing

Press and release Set. The green light will flash once. Press the key you used to make the sequence. The sequence should execute as expected.

IMPORTANT

Without pressing the Set key, press the key you used to make the sequence. It should act as it does normally (Volume up or down or Channel up or down). If it reruns the sequence, you have inadvertently placed a Set command as the last item in the sequence. This could have happened when you tried to exit the program by pressing Set. You may have inadvertently entered an extra (one blink) set command. If this does occur, we're sorry; but you'll need to reenter the whole sequence.

A Useful Sequence

  1. Press and hold Set until the green light on Tune In blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.
  2. Press and release keys: 9, 9, 5.

  8. The Cbl key was pressed a second time to create a small delay before the next command. Do this for TV, VCR and DSS commands also.
  9. Press a channel you want to enter, for example 22 and then Enter.
  10. Press the TV key.
  11. Press the channel you want to set the TV to operate with the cable box, for example 4 and then Enter.
  12. Press the Cbl key. This sets the remote to operate with the cable box.
  13. Press and hold Set until the green light on Tune In blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.

Test

Press and release the Set key. The green light will flash once. Press the VOL- key.

The equipment will turn on and tune as indicated. Press Set and VOL- again and the equipment will turn off.

Without pressing the Set key, press the VOL- key. It should act as it does normally (Volume down).
